Glossary
Welcome to the Elora Glossary. This page defines the core terms and philosophies we use to describe our platform, our workflow, and the creative journey of a modern meditation teacher.
Core Concepts
Soundscape Design
The creative and intentional process of crafting an immersive meditative environment. Unlike traditional audio engineering, which focuses on technical correction, soundscape design focuses on the artistic layering of audio elements to evoke a specific emotional or meditative state.
Soundscape
The final, immersive audio environment created within Elora. A soundscape is built by layering multiple tracks—such as music, nature sounds, and binaural beats—into a single, cohesive experience.

Layering
The intuitive action of adding and balancing background audio elements to build a soundscape. Elora allows for up to 6 simultaneous looping layers, each with individual volume control, enabling creators to "layer in" depth and texture effortlessly.
Studio Voice
A professional digital double of a user's unique voice, allowing for narration without recording. While the underlying technology is Voice Cloning, we refer to the result as a "Studio Voice"—a professional instrument that captures your unique resonance and heart so you can guide your students without the stress of the microphone.

Text-based Editing
A creation interface where audio is managed through a script rather than a complex timeline of waveforms. If you can edit a document, you can craft a meditation. Every word and pause is controlled via the text, providing precise timing without the need for manual cutting or splicing.

Space
The meditative environment, ambience, or internal experience created for the listener. We refer to the result of a soundscape as a "space" to emphasize the experiential quality of guided audio.
Professional Asset
A high-quality, branded audio recording that a teacher owns 100%. These are not just files, they are business assets used to grow email lists, sell courses, build private communities, and establish a sustainable legacy.
Our Philosophy
Conductor Role
The philosophy that the teacher's role is that of a conductor, not a technician. Elora handles the "orchestra" (production, audio engineering, mixing, recording) while the teacher provides the vision, intention, and direction through their script and soundscape design.
Capability Unlock
Our commitment to enabling those who are currently blocked by technical friction. We prioritize features that give someone the ability to create (e.g., bypassing the need for a microphone) over features that simply speed up existing pro workflows.
Zero-Friction
A design principle aimed at removing every technical hurdle between a creative idea and a published track. Every feature in Elora is evaluated by how much friction it removes for the non-technical creator.
Low-Experience (Low-Ex)
Our primary audience: teachers who are brilliant at their craft but may be intimidated by technology or "mic-fright." We build for the teacher who wants to share their gift, not the one who wants to learn Audacity.
Intentional Ownership
The belief that a creator must contribute their unique intention to a project for it to be truly theirs. Elora requires the teacher to craft the script and design the soundscape, ensuring the final asset has the soul of the creator imbued within.
Technical Terms
Blend
The action of combining audio layers into a harmonious whole. We prefer "blend" or "craft" over "mix" to emphasize the artistic nature of the process.
Narration
The unit of measurement for spoken audio within Elora. Usage is tracked based on the minutes of spoken text generated against a soft limit. Pauses, silence, and background soundscapes do not count toward your usage, giving teachers the freedom to design long, spacious meditations.
Professional Audio Library
A beautifully hosted, digital space where a teacher's assets are stored and shared. Also referred to as "Elora Pages," it solves the final mile of delivery by providing a single, branded link for clients to access audio tracks without managing file downloads.
