Hello, I'm Elora, and I'm so happy you're here to join me in this morning gratitude practice.
Today, we're going to explore the vibrant energy of Pittsburgh, bringing our mindful awareness to all the things that make this city so special.
Let's start by getting grounded and comfortable.
Take a couple deep breaths, allowing your body to settle into a comfortable position.
You can gently close your eyes, or keep them softly open.
Notice your breath as it flows in and out of your body, and gently let go of any thoughts that come up, acknowledging them and then softly releasing them.
Just notice the natural rhythm of your breath as you prepare to begin.
Imagine yourself waking up in Pittsburgh, the sunlight streaming through your window.
You might hear the sound of birds chirping outside, or perhaps the distant hum of the city.
You might even smell the fresh air, carrying the scent of blooming flowers or freshly brewed coffee.
Whatever you notice, simply observe it with a gentle, accepting awareness.
You're not trying to control your experience, just allowing it to unfold exactly as it is.
Bring your awareness to the feeling of your body sitting or lying on a comfortable surface.
Feel the weight of your body gently resting.
Notice the sensations of your breath entering and leaving your body, feeling the air at your nostrils, the gentle rising and falling of your chest and belly.
Allow your mind to settle in this moment.
Bring your awareness to the Pittsburgh skyline โ those majestic steel bridges, the iconic buildings, the sprawling rivers.
Feel the energy of the city around you, the bustling streets, the vibrant atmosphere.
Feel the history and resilience that pulses through the heart of Pittsburgh.
Now, focus on the feeling of gratitude for this city.
What are you grateful for about Pittsburgh?
Maybe it's the beautiful parks, the friendly people, the thriving arts scene, or the delicious food.
Maybe it's the sense of community, or the city's rich history.
You might even be grateful for the city's challenges, which have helped to shape its resilience and spirit.
Whatever comes to mind, simply acknowledge it with gratitude, appreciating all the things that make Pittsburgh a truly unique place.
Spend a few moments allowing the feeling of gratitude to spread throughout your body.
Let it fill you with warmth and peace.
You are part of this vibrant city, connected to its history, its energy, its spirit.
Take your time, there's no hurry.
As you continue to breathe, gently and slowly bring your awareness back to your physical body.
Take a deep breath, slowly stretching your body, bringing your attention to the sensations of your arms and legs.
And when you're ready, gently open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me in this gratitude practice.
I look forward to seeing you next time.
